forum question 161

This is a class question that needs to be answer with at least 150 words. I would like for it to be in your own words. Please No Plagiarism This need a reply to another student in my psychology class

I remember when I first started taking classes online while working. People didn’t understand how I could manage working, and my family while pursuing my degree. I always told them it is hardwork. Fast forward to the last 2 years, I was given the opportunity to telecommute from home. Again I had people saying that working from home would be more of a distraction than being in the office. They would watch TV. or be working while in bed. For me it is a benefit, but for many it is not because they lack self-discipline.

Being able to work from home does not change the fact that I have a job to do. I still have to maintain breaks and schedules. I have to keep up with my workload and be available to do conference calls when necessary. The only difference is I don’t have to wake up early, tackle rush hour traffic, and I can work in my PJs; I still have work to do. It takes discipline to stay on tasks, the same as it is to complete online courses. It also takes motivation because there are no supervisors or instructors standing over my shoulder telling me to continuing working. If you lack the ability within to do this for yourself then a traditional approach may be the best remedy. Thoughts?
