Students will participate in a Legislative Day sponsored by either the NASW-SC on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 8:30 to 11:45 am at the South Carolina State House. Select a current bill from SC State Legislature’s Session 123, 2019-2020. Session that fits best with your area of social welfare policy interest, write a summary of the bill, and argue either for or against the proposed legislation. In addition, prior to the event, write a set of talking points to use for lobbying, and make a list of elected officials and advocacy groups who support your position.
